Networking is about relationships. Compate it to “farming” rather than “hunting”. If you are meeting someone for the first time, resist the urge to sell – and the urge to tell them all about you and your company. Listen to them and ask about their work and their family. Start planting seeds that can grow into a long-term relationship. Invite them for lunch or coffee next week (Goodie’s Cafe in Sour Lake is an awesome choice – come hungry!)
